When Growth Goes Bad #2: Bad Clients

May 21, 2019 9:41:00 AM / by Lee Goudzwaard-Vaught posted in small business, small business advice, communication

Growth for a business is good, right?

Yes and no. There are always complications that come with growth. What worked with a few people might not always work when your company is much bigger. Here's a challenge business owners with a quickly growing company face:

Doing Too Much Work for Not Enough Money: Keeping Bad Clients

When your business is young, you’re hungry and willing to go after just about any client that will have you. Sometimes you have to resort to business and marketing tactics that take the place of an experienced track record.

As you grow your business, it’s important to realize that you don’t have to be chained to these practices -- or those bad clients. While it’s important to be “easy to work with” it’s equally important that clients know and understand the value that you bring to them.

If they don’t, it’s time to cut ties and figure out something new. Plus, offering things like a free-trial or test runs often feel more desperate than aggressive, it’s time to ditch the free this year and take a good long look at how to determine your worth.

No more bad clients in 2019.

At CSI Accounting we're more than just your accounting, bookkeeping and payroll people, we're there for you as your business consultant and we want to see you succeed.
