As for our limit, we just say that we’ll work with you until your work outpaces our staff. We don’t go into detail on the limit because when a client wants to take their accounting in-house, they’ve always been the ones to make that call.
(Although on occasion, those who think they’ve outgrown us are wrong. They’re just looking for services that we don’t provide. We encourage clients to handle things like that in-house and let us handle the rest.)

Payroll starts to outpace our staff when a client has over 500 employees. If a client outgrows us, the next step is to take their payroll in-house. However, there are plenty of businesses that outsource their payroll forever!
CSI also provides access to retirement plans, legal services, and HR packages through our trusted partners. It’s mostly the same story with scalability.
As your business grows, you decide when to hire an HR specialist or retain an attorney. With that being said, many businesses outsource these services long-term.
And retirement plans are almost always outsourced, no matter how much you grow. Our retirement plan partner’s software integrates directly with our systems, allowing it to scale alongside your business as it grows.
