What Happens if I Switch to CSI’s Payroll Service and Something “Breaks”?

April 13th, 2026 | 4 min. read

By Kris Foster

woman looking nervous and text: What if my payroll BREAKS when I hire CSI?

Handing off your business’s payroll to a new service can be scary. You may have concerns about the accuracy and timeliness of employees getting paid, payroll taxes getting paid, and quarterly and annual returns getting filed.

So, will CSI have these issues? (Unlikely.) If we do, will we fix them? (YES!)

In this article, I’ll explain:

  • Why payroll issues occur.
  • How we avoid issues better than other providers.
  • How we fix any issues.

Why Payroll Issues Occur

After 60 years of service and with hundreds of current payroll clients, it’s safe to say that we’ve established our processes. These processes keep us efficient and accurate.

So, how do payroll errors happen? Over the years, a few clients requested that we handle their payroll their way. In the spirit of customer service, we obliged. The result was slowed processes and errors galore… so we don’t do that anymore. After all, clients hire us as a service, not an employee. We need to stick to what works best.

How CSI Better Avoids Issues

Is CSI truly better than other payroll services at avoiding these issues? I know it sounds biased, but… yes. Let me explain the reasons:

  • We don’t make service exceptions (anymore). I explained this in the section above. Sticking to our processes means we limit the capacity for mistakes.
  • We have incredibly low turnover. We take good care of our employees, and most stay for many years. They have our processes nailed down and have already learned from mistakes.
  • We only have one payroll department. Your dedicated Payroll Specialist is accountable to you. They can’t blame a mistake on someone else because they handle everything from setup to processing to quarterly and year-end tasks. Have a question or problem? You know who to call!

How CSI Fixes Payroll Issues

You don’t really care about how we fix what’s broken. You just care that errors get resolved. Here’s what you need to know:

  • Your dedicated Payroll Specialist is the person to call. The same person who works on your account is doing the fixing. You won’t get passed from person to person (unless it’s an IRS issue, then that’s out of our hands for a while).
  • We guarantee our accuracy. We stand behind what we do, one hundred percent. If we caused an error, you won’t pay a penny for the correction.
  • We will help you even if we didn’t cause the error. Accuracy matters. Whether you, your administrator, or a former provider made a big mistake, we’ll fix it for an additional charge.
