CSI Accounting & Payroll’s Bad Reviews: What They Have In Common
September 8th, 2025 | 3 min. read

At CSI Accounting & Payroll, while we’ve provided comprehensive monthly accounting and payroll services for nearly 60 years, our online reviews only date back to 2013.
Since 2013, we’ve gathered nearly 400 reviews across the web. Of those reviews, only 15 are bad (1-star or 2-star), and they have a lot in common. Let’s talk about these major points:
- Duplicate reviews, reviews from non-clients, & reviews of a different firm.
- What the bad reviews have in common.
- Hidden, “not recommended” positive reviews.
Duplicates, Non-Clients, & Mistaken Identity
If CSI has 15 bad reviews, does that mean they’re from 15 unhappy clients? Not at all.
We’ve had former clients leave reviews on multiple platforms and make multiple accounts. There's also a review from a former client’s spouse (who we never worked with) and reviews of the firm we acquired in 2023 (not us). If we removed these instances, we’d truly have only 9 bad reviews in our nearly 60 years of service.
Next, I’ll cover what caused them to leave bad reviews!
What the Bad Reviews Have In Common
CSI strives to have zero negative client experiences. After all, most of our clients joined us because they had poor customer service from other providers. So, where did things go wrong?
Most of these former clients did not make it past onboarding. We had 1-2 meetings while trying to get things up and running, but we can’t do our job if we’re waiting for them to send their information. Instead, these clients dragged their feet, then wanted to get out of our written agreements.
That’s frustrating to both parties involved! We regret not getting the chance to show the benefits of our monthly accounting and payroll services over time, and we always honor our portion of a service agreement unless we’re prevented from doing so.
Hidden 5-Star Reviews
Let’s put our 15 negative reviews to the side and focus on our nearly 400 positive reviews for a moment. We take that number as a sign that we’re doing something right most of the time!
Plus, for every review you see, there are also some that you don’t see. Did you know that some of the most popular review sites initially only show you their “recommended” reviews and hide the rest? Their automated software decides which ones are shown.
On one major site, CSI actually has more reviews that aren’t shown than the ones that are, and all of our hidden reviews are 5-stars. So, if you’re reading reviews, I welcome you to check those out, too!
The Positives Outweigh the Negatives!
Now that you know that we only have 9 authentic bad reviews, many of those people never gave us the chance to serve them, and there are even more hidden positive reviews, are you ready to check out CSI Accounting & Payroll?
