What Can CSI’s Payroll Service Help Me With?
April 12th, 2024 | 5 min. read
When you need a payroll service for your small business, it’s usually because running payroll has started taking up too much of your time or your business has developed some unique payroll needs.
Maybe you need a way for your employees to clock in and out of work, or maybe you need help with certain types of garnishments from an employee’s check. Regardless, you’ll want to know a payroll service’s capabilities before coming on board.
At CSI Accounting & Payroll, we’ve worked with small businesses for over 50 years. After talking with thousands of clients and prospective clients, we’ve heard about any payroll need you can imagine. Here are the payroll needs we can help our clients with.
CSI’s Payroll Capabilities
At CSI Accounting & Payroll, you can customize your payroll solution so you don’t pay for more than you need.
To do this, we simply combine a standard payroll package with your selected add-on features.
Standard Payroll Package
When most people think of a payroll service, they picture the basics. Your employees get paid, your payroll taxes get handled, and you get remote access to a portal with payroll management, reports, and pay stubs.
- Payroll check processing
- Direct deposit
- Electronic payroll tax payments
- Federal (941) & State withholding tax returns
- Federal (940) & State unemployment tax returns
- Access to workers' compensation audit reports
- Payroll tax audit representation
- Personal portal logins for your employees
- Employer portal login for your admin account
- Standard report package
- Cash requirement report
- Payroll journal report
- Check register report
Some standard payroll features vary by size, frequency, or complexity. We can handle:
- Any of the common pay frequencies (weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly)
- A large number of employees on payroll (up to about 500 who will all need year-end W2s and 1099s)
- All 50 states (which will all need State tax account setups and tax filings)
If you want or need more features than those listed here, you can look into our add-ons. We’re focusing just on our capabilities here, but if you want to learn more about each feature’s cost, check out our payroll pricing page that outlines everything!
Situational (Non-Elective) Add-Ons
This refers to situations that are outside of common payroll factors but are not elective add-ons. CSI covers the following situations for our clients:
- New hire reporting
- Child support and other garnishments*
- Retirement plan reporting*
*These are somewhat optional. We can charge an additional fee to handle garnishments and retirement plan money, otherwise, we can just set these up in our system for no additional cost and allow you to handle the money.
Elective Add-Ons
This refers to things that are outside of common payroll factors but are added by your choice. CSI covers the following services if you choose to add them:
- Human Interest employee 401(k) plans
- Pay As You Go workers’ compensation insurance
- PTO tracking added to paystubs
- Different levels of HR services
- Timekeeping software and swipe clocks
- Printing and delivering paper checks and reports
- Pay card solutions
- Direct deposit payments to HSA/FSA accounts
- Data entry (hours, commissions, bonuses)
- Employment verifications
- Amending payroll tax returns including W-2s
- Completing online worker’s compensation audits
You can even choose to have a USB drive sent to you each year that contains all of your payroll data. Many of our clients enjoy having a physical copy of this information for their records.
